So Much For Fast Food Minimum Wage Increase
No longer will they say, “He’s going to end up flipping burgers.” Because now, robots are taking even these ignobly esteemed jobs. Alpha machine from Momentum Machines cooks
up a tasty burger with all the fixins. And it does it with such quality
and efficiency it’ll produce “gourmet quality burgers at fast food
prices.”With a conveyor belt-type system the burgers are freshly ground, shaped and grilled to the customer’s liking. And only when the burger’s finished cooking does Alpha slice the tomatoes and pickles and place them on the burger as fresh as can be. Finally, the machine wraps the burger up for serving.
And while you fret over how many people you invited to the barbecue, Alpha churns out a painless 360 hamburgers per hour.
San Francisco-based Momentum Machines claim that using Alpha will save a restaurant enough money that it pays for itself in a year, and it enables the restaurant to spend about twice as much on ingredients as they normally would – so they can buy the gourmet stuff. Saving money with Alpha is pretty easy to imagine. You don’t even need cashiers or servers. Customers could just punch in their order, pay, and wait at a dispensing window.

The Foibles of Democracy - "Dumb-ocracy" - Searching for Intelligent Life in Politics
by ScottRohter
If you are looking for intelligent life in politics I have just two words for you…. Good Luck! In politics nothing operates the way that it should. Money is always the principal driving factor behind everything that gets done… every vote that is taken, every law that gets passed, every program that gets implemented, and every politician that gets elected. Nothing in the entire physical universe behaves the same way that politicians do, and nothing else in the whole world functions exactly the same way that politics does.
You shouldn’t begin your search for higher intelligence in politics by looking in the “Dumb-o-crat” Party. Recently twenty eight “Dumb-o-crats” participated in a marathon night long session in our Nation’s Capital on their favorite subject of global warming / climate change. If that is any indication of the quality of critical thinking available in the Democrat Party then you would just be wasting your time looking for any intelligence over there. If it’s a sign of intelligent life on earth then perhaps we should just scuttle this search and look for signs of higher intelligence elsewhere in the universe… But then there is one promising note to mention. All of the Republicans stayed away from this dumb political stunt which was planned and orchestrated by the Democrat Party. So let’s try to remain optimistic at least for now, and begin our search for intelligent life in politics inside the Republican Party. Let’s launch a probe into that “stellar” body to see if there is really any reason for optimism over there.
Before I do this let me remind you that the United States is not a democracy at all. It is a constitutional republic. It was never intended to be a democracy or a “dumb-o-cracy” as the case may be. Nevermind the fact that “Dumb-o-crats” pay no attention whatsoever to our Constitution. To them it is just a rather old and rudimentary foundation for them to improve upon. Just like an old slab of concrete they think they have discovered cracks in it that need to be repaired… In their mind it is a poor attempt at self-government that was dreamed up by a bunch of old white men who didn’t have computers, or drive cars, or even have indoor plumbing back then. They think they can do much better than our Founding Fathers. I shudder to think what these “Dumb-ocrats” would say about the works of Aristotle, or Socrates, or Plato, or the Hebrew prophets who wrote the Bible. I am sure they think that even the least of all Democrats today is smarter than all of the Founding Fathers combined.
With that in mind let me give you another example of why progressive Democrat thinking is dumb… Progressive ideology first reared its ugly head in the early 20th Century. Our Constitution was created in the 18th Century. When our United States Constitution was written the United States House of Representatives consisted of members who were duly elected by the people of the several States, but U.S. Senators were supposed to be elected by the members of the various State Legislatures. That is not the case anymore today. Ever since the 17th Amendment was ratified in 1913 both U.S. Congressmen and Senators are directly elected by the people. Another thing that is worth noting is that the U.S. House of Representatives was originally supposed to be elected only by Americans… in other words by United States citizens. It is not specifically stated anywhere in the Constitution. It is implied by having a good understanding of the times in which the framers of the Constitution lived. But today that definition has been expanded and broadened to include any one who can make it across our southern border. It includes Central Americans, South Americans, and Mexicans who are here llegally. Now how dumb is that?… or should I ask how progressive is that? It is typical of progressive thinking. Today you don’t actually have to be a United States citizen in order to vote in our State and Federal elections. You don’t even have to show i.d. in order to vote in many places in America. As long as you can get into our country and avoid being apprehended and deported then you can cast a ballot in our elections. And both “Dumb-o-crats” and progressive Republicans have unfortunately played a role in this disastrous policy. It was never the original intent of our Founding Fathers to allow non-citizens to vote in our elections.
