I Am Offended by Your Compliment!
One wonders if among those five highly offended persons is the junior senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth (a.k.a., “Princess Fauxcahontas”) Warren. Or perhaps some other liberal-Progressive who has convinced themselves that they need to take care of their Native American cousins since they are so obviously incapable of caring for themselves. But I digress.
But why are the Redskins the only professional sports team being singled out for this distinction? After all, there are the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Blackhawks. They all have names that could be interpreted as denigrating Native American peoples, and in fact some have been sued in what we generally refer to as competent courts over that very issue.
What about collegiate sports teams? There are the Florida State Seminoles who have cleverly worked with the Seminole tribal council which has muted most criticism aimed at them. The famous Chief Osceola featured at Florida State games is usually a Seminole tribesman riding a horse provided by the Seminoles. However, there are still the Bradley University Braves, the University of Utah Utes and so on.The metaphorical jury seems to be still out on those terribly offensive team names.

Read What Else Hobby Lobby Forces On Employees
With the company being regularly vilified in the news due to their religious views and current conflict with the Affordable Care Act mandate for birth control, it’s time to set the record straight and give this company some of the positive publicity it deserves. In the brief article to follow are some details about Hobby Lobby and its founders that you probably haven’t heard on the news.
First, while the media continuously states Hobby Lobby does not want to offer birth control through its insurance plan, this is completely inaccurate. As previously reported, the company already covers 16 of the mandated 20 drugs under Obamacare. The controversy started when Hobby Lobby owners claimed it would be a “violation of conscience” to provide the remaining 4 drugs that cause “end of life” rather than standard contraception. Hobby Lobby doesn’t object to covering all contraception, only the emergency contraceptive pills Plan B and Ella and intrauterine devices (IUDs), which they believe are abortifacients. These abortifacient drugs are not what would typically come to mind when most people hear the words “birth control.”

The 50th Anniversary of Lyndon Baines Johnson's Great Society
Fifty years ago Lyndon Baines Johnson declared war on poverty in America. In retrospect many of the so called “Great Society” reforms that began in 1963 under his administration have been unmitigated disasters. Head Start, Food Stamps, and the Immigration Act of 1965 are government entitlement programs that all began during the Johnson Administration and they have all had the unflinching support of the NAACP. All of the hype surrounding these government assistance programs not withstanding they have not enabled a single American to work their way out of poverty or to become a more productive member of our society. They have all been total failures in that regard. They have only served to enable millions of under-privileged Americans to become progressively more and more dependent on the Federal Government while at the same time destroying their personal sense of self-esteem and whatever traditional values they originally had that form the basis for a solid family life. If you don’t believe me just take a good, long look at the condition of the nuclear Black family in America’s inner cities today. This is in spite of everything that Lyndon Johnson, the Democratic Party, and the NAACP have tried to do. They have failed unquestionably.
There are hundreds of thousands of unwed African-American mothers living on welfare, many of them bearing the children of casual sexual encounters with several different men. There are a growing number of single parent homes headed up by Black women because too many Black men are justly locked up in jail and absent from their children’s lives. Thus many Black children are growing up today without any positive adult role models in their lives.
